We have produced a list of questions that our customers ask us which we hope may give you an insight into the world of chocolate fountains. This list is not designed to cover all points and certainly not meant to replace customer service that we pride ourselves on. We are always willing to answer any queries by phone or email, please get in touch
A chocolate fountain is a polished steel fountain made up of a base and three tiers. Special Belgian chocolate is melted in the base to a smooth consistent texture. This is then transported to the top of the fountain by an auger (corkscrew) and cascades down over the tiers to create a waterfall effect. The fountain will amaze your guests or clients and that's before they have even tasted the Belgian Chocolate. In fact the combination of the chocolate aroma the visual impact of the fountain and the taste of the chocolate always leaves people with a lasting memory of the night.
Do you use special Chocolate?
A different kind of chocolate (known as Couverture Chocolate) must be used in fountains. It is made up of a higher percentage of cocoa butter than your average chocolate bar. This means that is coats anything it comes into contact with making it ideal for the fountains. We use only the finest standard of chocolate to provide our clients with the highest standard of service. Its available for your home fountain in our online shop.
We also never ever ever ever use oil in our chocolate. Its disgusting, ruins the taste and is done purely as a cost cutting measure by some fountain hire companies.
Make sure you don't find out on the night that the company
you used this in the fountain you have just paid for.
What sort of foods can I have around the fountain?
This is very much down to personal choice. Most customers have around 6-8 foods (or dips to give them the correct term) usually consisting of Fresh Strawberries, Marshmallows, Profiteroles, Fresh Pineapple, Jelly Babies and Dairy Fudge. Of course you could decide to have non of these and choose your own. However these are our most popular and we know they work well.
As long as it can be put on a skewer and is not crumbly, its
down to personal choice.
What do I need to do on the night?
Absolutely nothing other than arrive and enjoy yourself. We look after the setup take down and cleaning and because we stay with the fountain we can ensure that it looks as good for the hundredth guest as it did for the first.
We don't have a mess and take pride in our work.
How long do I have the fountain for?
Standard hires are two to three hours excluding the one hour we need to set the fountain
up and our half hour takedown. We can provide the fountain for longer if required , just mention it when booking.
At the end of the evening we cover any remaining dips and
leave them out on plates so that the dips can be enjoyed
after we have left.
What kind of event does it have to be to have a fountain?
Our fountains can compliment any event. Whether it's a birthday party or wedding a corporate event or just a get together we can cater for your needs. Fountains are excellent additions to stands at trade shows or conventions and will have visitors flocking.
If you are thinking of the cost implications, many clients
have the fountain instead of a dessert on a buffet.
Why pay £6-£7 per head for a cheesecake when the fountain
offers so much more.
What do I need to provide?
The only things we require you to provide (or the venue hosting your event) is a table with a nearby power point and table linen. We provide
all the, napkins and skewers. Our aim on the night is that you do not have any involvement other than dipping delicious items into Belgian chocolate.
Do I need to book well in advance?
Its advisable to call us as soon as you have a firm date for your event so we can book you in. Fountains are becoming more and more popular and we would hate to have to turn your custom away. However we can sometimes have dates available at short notice. Its worth giving us a call.
